Position Description

Role:

Sepsis Alliance is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Clinical Education Manager to join our team of passionate professionals. Sepsis Alliance is experiencing a period of record growth and impact and is looking to add clinical operational support to the provider education and training programs to improve sepsis awareness and readiness across the continuum of care and continuum of career.

Sepsis Alliance has a small office in San Diego, CA. Current open positions have the option to work in-office in San Diego, or remote.

Skills:

Combined healthcare education, project management, and leadership skills. Conference planning and continuing medical education accreditation experience. Responsible for project management of provider education initiatives and activities, and advising Sepsis Alliance, Sepsis Alliance Institute, and Sepsis Alliance Clinical Community teams on content, trends, best practices in clinical performance and continuing interprofessional education for sepsis. Ability to communicate effectively with all organization members, stakeholders, and partners. Plan, organize, prioritize, and manage his/her own work, as well as that of direct reports as needed. Exhibit effective judgement and decision-making skills and take action according to qualities such as open-mindedness, thoroughness, maturity, and professionalism. Ability to work independently (remote) with minimal supervision, delegate, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines is essential.

Duties:

General

    • Manage operations of multiple provider education projects and educational activities at the same time
    • Assist in managing and growing the Sepsis Alliance Institute and Sepsis Alliance Clinical Community
    • Serve as Conference/Sepsis Alliance Summit Project Manager
    • Engage in critical discussions to integrate continuing education to fit between theory, research, innovation, and real problems faced in frontline clinical practice
    • Maintain knowledge of adult-learning principles and incorporate those principles in managing the development of provider education and training programs
    • Assist in identifying topics and speakers for sepsis clinical education content development across the continuum of care
    • Assist in ensuring clinical content is accurate and up to date
    • Work with the Sepsis Alliance team and subject matter experts to develop new content for clinical training
    • Work with speakers to develop description and learning objectives for content
    • Use effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.
    • Seek new opportunities to innovate, expand, and improve upon Sepsis Alliance’s Provider Education & Training programs and initiatives
    • Support Sepsis Alliance’s Marketing & Communications team by collaborating around key education communications, timing, and content
    • Participate in live webinars to track incoming questions from learners
    • Attend key conferences representing Sepsis Alliance
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Nursing degree, advanced degree preferred
    • Medical conference planning experience
    • Project and program management experience
    • Learning management system experience, EthosCE a plus
    • Knowledge of sepsis care, management, and education
    • Continuing medical education and accreditation experience a plus
    • Proficient in computer programs and software such as Microsoft Office 365
    • Database experience, Salesforce preferred
    • Ability to manage and juggle multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
    • Ability to work independently, highly motivated and self-directed
    • Interest and ability to suggest new projects and process improvement opportunities
    • Genuine interest in making change happen and doing good in the world
    • Able to travel to a limited number of events
    • Encouraged to consider obtaining Certified Healthcare Professional Development (CPD) Professional CHCP credential through the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEhp)
